  • North American Harvard In RNZAF service as a pilot trainer for more than three decades the Harvard was first flown in 1937. Known as the Harvard in the British Commonwealth, T-6 Texan in the USAF and SNJ by the US Navy, over 21,000 were built. The Harvard was used as the primary trainer for most Commonwealth aircrew during WWII, after they had flown solo in the Tiger Moth. Fully aerobatic, it was a delight to fly, but not too easy for the novice who one day would move onto single seat fighter aircraft.
  • Thunder Mustang The high-performing Thunder Mustang is a fairly rare sight worldwide. Built from high-tech modern materials and powered by a 640hp Ryan falconer V12 racing engine, it is a modern replica of the P-51 Mustang fighter of the WWII era. Extremely maneuverable, the tiny aircraft has an impressive power to weight ratio allowing it to well out do the aircraft which inspired it, in many aspects of performance. In terms of scale the Thunder Mustang is 7.3m long while the P-51 is nearly 10m long. This aircraft will be flown by its owner, Simon Gault, one of New Zealand’s most popular celebrity chefs.
  • Grumman Avenger The rugged Grumman Avenger, which has folding wings, was designed as a carrier-borne torpedo bomber. It was one of the largest single engine fighters of its time, built by General Motors initially for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The aircraft was an important RNZAF fighter used in the Pacific campaigns of WWII..
